Covid-19 has laid low many a great plans this season. As we practice social distancing, cancel out-door events and take a break from our journeys and endless rituals, new rituals are being born.... handwashing, elbow-sneezing, distance learning etc.
Washington DC, the seat of one of the great world powers, is no different. The spring has arrived, the blossoms are in full bloom but the mall is empty. The reflecting pond is drained (not the swamp) giving more room for people to walk safely and allowing unique opportunities to document the city under siege
The machinery of the mighty empire is grinding to a halt....time to take a breath (only through N95)
